Artist's Comments *Gild-a-Lily asked people to manipulate a portrait of her here; I happened to have nothing to do on Friday, so I did. This piece went in two steps - first I edited the photo and removed the background Friday night, then today I took the png and added background/textures/extras etc.. There is a second version in my scraps here, more starry and dark than this lighter fluffy version.----- Stuff used:  Portrait by *Gild-a-Lily Tiara brush by `spiritsighs and converted by *surfing-ant Star brushes by ~iceytina Corner ornaments, I cannot for the LIFE of me find again, they just say "by Angeles" but he has no deviations up  Starry texture by *ro-stock Background purple texture is by me. |

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. She looks really innocent. Fragile. Ok, so at first she seemed a bit too blurred. But then again, I think it only stresses her softness. Her eyes are really something with all the lashes.
Tiara is an excellent add-on, and you've done a small miracle with the textures and brushes. Very icy feeling without actual ice.

Yes, she does look rather blurred. I left some of the starry texture over her face (just erasing from her eyes and some from her lips) so it sort of blurs her skin a bit more than it actually is. I could probably add a bit more texture to her skin without losing the soft quality... I'll keep fiddling with it
Lashes! Ack. Lashes and I have a hate-hate relationship. Either too even or too uneven, I can never get them right. Hopefully these are half-decent
Glad you like the tiara, it was a last-minute addition because I thought it looked a bit plain. The textures just sort of WORKED, the star brushes were great (though believe it or not the stars alone took up 11 layers), and the corner brushes I've always loved but never had anything to use them on before. I think they fit here

It was a pleasure to do this piece. I can't say I've ever done a portrait with a fantasyish feel like this before, but this piece just came together like it was meant to be. I'm glad you like it, and thank you for adding it to your shoutboard!
